On Friday, March 22, 2013, Ms. Brittany Briggs traveled to Andover, Massachusetts to compete in the 2013 INTERNATIONAL TANG SOO DO CHAMPIONSHIP. With more than 490 competitors, people traveled from as far as South Africa, Wales, Texas to New York and all over the United States. On Friday night Ms. Briggs placed 2nd in the Black Belt Mens & Womens Bo-Staff division. On Saturday March 23, she placed 2nd in the Black Belt Women.s Forms division and 1st place in the Black Belt Women.s Sparring division with over 10 competitors in each division.
We are very proud of Ms. Briggs and her results in the 2013 International Tang Soo Do Championship hosted by the American Tang Soo Do Association.
]]><![CDATA[Pre- Black Belt Test February 22, 2013]]>Tue, 26 Feb 2013 18:16:54 GMThttp://www.gentlepalmkarate.com/more-news/pre-black-belt-test-february-22-2013Friday, February 22, 2013 was an exciting evening here at Gentle Palm.  We had our Black Belt Pretest for all different levels and our 1 year Probationary Stripe Test. Joining us was Top Notch Karate of Newark.   It was a rigorous test lasting 3 hours and all the students worked hard to achieve their goals. Now they will be getting ready for their final test in September. 

Pre-testers for 1st Dan from our school were Tommy Wirt, Jason Ludlow, and Tim Humphreys.

1st Dan Black Belt was Awarded to Emma Davis 

Pre-testers from Top Notch Karate for 1st Dan were Tom Lynch, Jonathan Feliciano, Jesse Casarez
and Ian Lynch.

 Pre-tester for 3rd Dan was Steven Rotholz.

1st Dan Black Belt was Awarded were Timothy Boulet  Dan and Robert Desjardin

On November 3rd and 4th, of 2012 the World Haidong Gumdo Federation held the East Coast Testing and Seminar in Levittown, PA. This event is held during the spring and fall of each year to train and test all Black Belts that are eligible for belt promotion. Testing for Masters and Black Belts were held at 9:00 am on Saturday morning.
Mike Ashmore tested and was promoted to the rank of 2nd Dan, Congratulations to Mike on a job well done!
Student Seminar with Grand Master Kim was held from 10:00 until 12:00
Evelyn Lucas and Dev Short took part in the seminar.
The Master Seminar was held later attended by Shane Ross and Dave Laughlin.

Many thanks to Master Gene McClone, and additional instructors from Gentle Palm Martial Arts and to you for arranging the instruction of our Tai Chi class on Saturday, November 17th at Parish Life Day in the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware.  This was an incredibly successful event and the students of the Tai Chi class were very pleased with their workshop.  The evaluations for the Tai Chi workshop were outstanding as well as the comments.  We all thoroughly enjoyed all the instructors – they were so kind.
Thank you for agreeing to do the workshop with very little notice, it was incredibly gracious and professional. Again, many thanks to Gentle Palm Martial Arts.  You all were great!!
