Junior Haidong Gumdo

I recently had the privilege to attend the World Haidong Gumdo Championship in Korea. A three-day championship with over 40 countries from all over the world competing, the championship allowed students of all ages and gender to compete and demonstrate their skills in Haidong Gumdo.

During the championship, I saw some of the world’s best Haidong Gumdo Masters performing incredible skills and techniques, but the thing that amazed and impressed me the most were the ages of the children and number that were competing.

On my trip back, I kept thinking of the need to spread this wonderful martial art to the youth in America. I have always believed that one leads best by example, so I am starting a special Haidong Gumdo program to show the many benefits the art holds for children as well as adults.
