Tang Soo Do: Belt Ranks
The Tang Soo Do system is designed so that anyone who works out regularly will make steady progress towards optimum physical and mental development. This progress is measured through a goal system and incentive program with structured belt levels. The ten levels to Black Belt are called "The Ten Steps to Excellence."
The following is a list of belt ranks, and the forms you will learn at that level.
10th Gup: White Belt

9th Gup: White Belt with Two Orange Stripes

8th Gup: Orange Belt

Achieving the rank of Black Belt is a symbol of excellence in the Martial Arts. It gives the individual a tremendous sense of accomplishment and pride. The Black Belt represents total character development and improvement of the inner self. The actual Black Belt, however, is not nearly as important as what you have become.
