               Tang Soo Do

This ancient Korean martial art traces its roots back 2,000 years. A method of self-defense using empty hands, feet, and weapons. Tang Soo Do is based on principles of utilizing circular motion for defense and penetration of defenses with disabling attacks. It combines all aspects of defensive and offensive skills.

The word “Tang” refers to the T’ang Dynasty of China (617-907 AD), during which cultural backgrounds where shared between China and Korea. “Soo” means hand, but implies fist, punch, or defense. “Do” means a way of life.

Tang Soo Do is a way of life. Beginning with physical development for the purpose of better health and self-defense, it ultimately becomes a philosophical art in which one discovers their full potential.

The goal of Tang Soo Do is not to promote violence, but to learn a positive way of thinking and acting. This will guide you in all areas of your life, which will help you to be happier and healthier.
